>Alka Seltzer is having a “Said/Heard Mishaps Contest” on Facebook. I can’t wait to read all of the submissions (I’m not eligible for entry)! You’re going to want to start thinking of your own Said/Heard Mishaps, because Alka Seltzer is offering the person with the best submission some seriously great prizes!! Please, please share your entries here, or even if you don’t enter- share your stories!! I love silly stories!!
I feel like I have hundreds of these mishaps and have, of course, drawn a blank for two days trying to think of some examples. Thankfully my friend Melissa was around tonight to remind me about the following:
A few months ago, my five year old daughter overheard someone (me?) say “Well, DUH.” Several conversations ended for a few weeks after this similar to:
Me: We can’t really play outside very long today, it’s raining pretty hard.
Daughter: Well THE mommy. I already know its raining.
Husband: We have to play a game later, its time for me to go to work.
Daughter: Well THE daddy, I KNOW its time for you to go to work.
Oh, the sarcasm in her little voice….we couldn’t keep a straight face while she said it, so sure of herself.
I also remember a clip from America’s Funniest Videos in which a little kid saw a movie or TV show where someone said “You want a piece of me?” and the kid thought he was all tough asking “You want a piece of MEAT?” and even at one point asked his sister if she wanted a piece of ham. I still laugh when I think of that clip and it has likely been at least a year since I saw it!!
The winner of the Said/Heard Mishaps Contest will receive:
· A trip to New York City to star in an Alka-Seltzer online video featuring their entry
· The winning spot will premiere on the Alka-Seltzer Facebook page!
· Plus $5,000 to spend toward whatever they wish.
