Blueprint to Quit wants to help YOU stop smoking (Giveaway)

Here’s my mom with my son shortly after he was born.

My mom came to stay with us when my older daughter and my son were born.  She didn’t live to see my littlest baby born.  She’ll never meet her namesake.  It breaks my heart because her death was preventable.  I know that everyone says smoking is bad for you, and she knew that. If you smoke, YOU know it.  But my mom was one of the many who developed Emphysema and COPD.  She and my dad worked so hard and were so careful to plan for retirement so they could travel and live the good life.  My mom retired the day after she turned 65.  She was bedridden within a month and died a year later.  There were no trips.  There was no fun.  There was oxygen, and medication to help her to simply breathe.  But there wasn’t much living going on.  Had she ever been able to quit, all of our lives would be very, very different right now.  She just wasn’t ever able to stop smoking.

  • I think it was very interesting to hear about why people start smoking. 90% of my husband’s immediate family smokes, even though they watch eachother go through the horrific consequences like throat cancers and oxygen tanks. It’s hard for a person who has never smoked to comprehend.

  • My husband is a smoker and rarely a day goes by when I don’t worry about him dying from lung cancer like my grandmother and grandfather did. I have this fear that I will be burying my husband one day because of the cigarettes. I can’t thank you enough for offering this giveaway. It could potentially save the life of someone’s loved one. ♥

  • Didn’t realize it was so hard for so many to quit smoking. I know how hard it is for me because I have wanted to quit for quite some time now and just a few days ago tried again to quit and failed but not giving up because I want to be around longer for my children and grandchildren. My oldest grandson gets so upset if he sees me smoke, which is upsetting to me too. I thank you for doing this giveaway so that it will hopefully help another person quit.

  • I want this for my husband. We are in the hospital right now where I’ve been with him since 21 january for cardiac issues….he’s had to have two surgeries included one where a lot of fluid was pulled off his heart and lungs. He is a pack a day smoker And I’m looking for anything and everything that will help him quit… They have been keepi him on a nicotine patch and he has only had one cigarette in three weeks so I keep telling him that now is the most opportune time to quit…..after all this recent trouble I’m fairly scared for him to pick them back up so I hope he can do it.

Ps I’m really sorry about your mom, I lost my dad very suddenly when he was only 49 to a massive heart attack…. It’s hard. And like you said life would be so much different if they were still here.

  • I am not a smoker and so did not enter, but I feel your pain -my mother never lived to see me on my wedding day. COPD & emphysema robbed her of so many great years & milestones. My heart goes out to you -such preventable deaths & all because of cigarettes.
