>MultiGrain Cheerios and The Biggest Loser Prize Pack Giveaway

>By now you are all fully aware that this is a time in my life when I’m choosing to do more…to be healthier, to keep my family eating healthier- in what we eat, in what we do…so I will be taking many opportunities throughout 2011 to showcase ways to help us (the average person and family) to be successful in achieving goals like this.

One of the easiest ways to help my family to eat healthier is to purchase Cheerios products- and I’m very glad that everyone in my family is agreeable to eating the MultiGrain Cheerios.  I love that Cheerios offers widely-available and affordable options for families for breakfast (and snacks!).  I’ve eaten from the infamous yellow box for breakfast all of my 36 years and will likely continue to for the next 36.

Trying to lose weight while juggling busy schedules can be hard – can be?  Is hard.  Having quick, easy to access tools like the one on the MultiGrain Cheerios website can be a huge asset.
The fact that this tool is FREE is an added bonus.  Obviously I cannot fully follow the meals/menu on the site right now, having just started Nutrisystem, but I have visited the site several times and have incorporated recipe ideas into my cooking.  I have tried to start doing some exercise and weights, so that area of the site is a huge asset for me right now!!

It can be a challenge, but this year MultiGrain Cheerios® cereal and The Biggest Loser Club® can help you get started on your weight management goals with a free 7-day plan.
With tips, advice, and inspiration, the MultiGrain Cheerios website can help you start your weight management journey. After entering the code found inside specially marked boxes of MultiGrain Cheerios cereal, you can access exclusive tools, including:

A Body Mass Index (BMI) calculator to gauge how much weight you may need to lose or gain to be considered healthy and not at risk for serious health problems

An exclusive 7 Day Plan that pairs daily meal plans with cardio and strength-training routines
15 tasty recipes that will give your body the fuel it needs to get through the day
Daily workouts that couple cardio with mobility and resistance exercises to hit major muscle groups

Along with using the online tools, eating MultiGrain Cheerios cereal in the morning is another simple step you can take toward helping to manage weight. Studies have shown that people who eat more whole grain tend to have healthier body weights, and with 110 lightly sweetened calories per serving, MultiGrain Cheerios has more than 16 grams of whole grain per serving (48 g recommended daily) to help keep you on track for a healthier you this New Year!

Join MultiGrain Cheerios on Twitter™ during each episode of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser: Couples” Tuesday nights at 8PM EST through May 24, to connect with past contestants, share weight loss tips and discuss how to become your own Biggest Loser. Be sure to follow @MGCheerios and use the hashtag #mgcheerios to keep up with the conversation!

One of my readers will win a MultiGrain Cheerios prize pack which includes a box of MultiGrain Cheerios with special code inside, a water bottle and matching cereal container, and a duffle bag.

>My very first Nutrisystem Week has come to a close. #NSNATION

>I’ve had a different food for every meal (ok maybe a few dessert repeats) and stuck to the program quite well this entire week…and…

I lost 4.1 pounds since I weighed in last Friday!!

I’m so excited!!  And so, so motivated to keep going with this .   I haven’t been starving, either.  In fact, its kind of hard to remember to get EVERYTHING in each day.  I was super hungry one day…although I’m not sure that shoveling a roof and then roof raking for an hour straight is anticipated when you are doing Nutrisystem so maybe that had something to do with it.

That’s right- I’ve had exactly 23 meals, 7 snacks, 7 desserts (yes, dessert DAILY!!) and am down 4.1 pounds.  New math?  23+7+7=4.1

I’ve even received some of the brand new Nutrisystem foods to try, and while I haven’t tasted them all, I have to say the Peanut Butter & Jelly bar  is pretty delish!!

Other new items I’m anxious to try include Butter Flavored  Popcorn

and Italian Wedding Soup.  That’s hands down my all time favorite soup.

Plus, now they have Scrambled Eggs with Vegetables for breakfast too!

In other news- Nutrisystem is, for a limited time, offering their 2003 pricing!!  This is their “Rollback Sales Event” and its a perfect time to keep your resolutions going.

Want a fabulous, eco friendly hairdryer? Barbar Eco8000 Giveaway & 50% coupon code- Sweet & Simple Valentine’s Day

Barbar sent me the Eco8000 hair dryer a few weeks ago to try out.  Now, I have had horrible hair dryers in my time, haven’t we all?  I’ve always wanted a “real” dryer, like stylists use at salons- or like my sister has (she was a stylist before having kids).  It never occured to me that this was something that I should invest in, because the money spent a long time ago would have far better served me than the array of cheap, junky dryers I have used that broke within a year, and had to respend that same money time and time again.

My horrible hair dryer days are a thing of the past.  I’ve fallen in love, and making a long term commitment.  My new love?
The Barbar Ceramic Eco8000 Hair Dryer.

Isn’t it pretty?  I love it. Not just for its sleek design, although I do like the design.  But it works well.  I can dry my very fine but tons and tons of hair very quickly, which is key for me.  I can also dry it and hear conversations around me- something I am not used to.  I’ve never had a dryer so quiet!!  Added bonus? No coil heating element.  This has a ceramic heating element.  Less electricity and less radiation output.  (Who knew that not drying my hair for so many days/weeks/months years was eco-friendly?) This hair dryer also has an 11 foot cord, people.  You can move freely about your living space while drying your hair.  I was multitasking just today while drying my hair!!  11 FEET of cord!!!

The Barbar ECO 8000 Blow Dryer uses the latest in technology by having an eco-friendly ceramic heating element, as opposed to all standard dryers that have a coil heating element. The difference is use of electricity & output of radiation. The ECO 8000 has 5.0 mG (milligauss) output radiation. A standard 1,800 WATT dryer has over 200.0 mG! This amount of mG is comparable to the radiation output of a microwave. The ceramic heating element lasts 5x longer than a coil heating element. The ceramic heating element uses 90% electricity, turning it into heat. No energy is wasted, but saved. The coil heating element wastes electricity because it doesn’t use it, thus turning it into radiation. Unused electricity turns into radiation! The BARBAR ECO 8000 is truly eco-friendly; everything a blow dryer should be and much more.

•Air Flow 31-35 M/S
•AC Motor
•Negates radiation
•Cool shot release button
•11-foot professional cord
•1000 WATTS (blow power comparable to 1600 WATTS)
•Heat 266 F
•Saves electricity
•Multiple heat & speed settings

I love this hair dryer.  I love it for its great function, and yes, even for the price- I’ve spent FAR more than $150 on hair dryers in the last 7 years alone, and not one of them was particularly efficient, none had a ceramic heating element, and none lasted over 6 months except 1 which lasted about 10.  It also works efficiently.  I can dry my hair in about a third less time than with the clunky one I just gleefully tossed out shortly after my Eco8000 arrived!!  As a busy mom of three, time is a commodity- saving time is HUGE for me- and for busy women everywhere!!

Perfect Outdoor Shoe for Active Children

Expanded Grip ‘n’ Go™ Line, Vibrant Color Palette Across All Collections Highlight Other Spring/Summer 2011 Offerings

Henderson, NV (February 2011) The pediped® Spring/Summer 2011 collection debuts with the new Adventure Line, an innovative collection of eco-friendly, machine washable, water-safe shoes. The new collection, an expansion of the popular pediped® Flex® line, offers style, protection and comfort both in and out of the water.
The functional, yet stylish Adventure Line footwear includes a natural rubber sole, toe caps and Velcro straps. The machine washable shoes are lighter weight and more flexible than other waterproof shoes available on the market. Offered in EU sizes 20-31, the collection features twelve bright colors in two adorable styles: the Nile, a Mary Jane style for girls, and the Amazon, an athletic sandal for both boys and girls.
The Spring/Summer 2011 collection is pediped’s largest and most innovative to date featuring more than 75 new styles across pediped® footwear’s three lines, Originals®, Grip ‘n’ Go™ and Flex®. The collection features pediped’s signature comfortable fit and a broadened color palette of bright color combinations on trend for Spring and Summer. To meet consumer demand, pediped® has expanded athletic styles, and brought the popular Adrian style across all three lines in brighter colors for boys and girls.
· The Originals® line of soft-soled infant shoes that mimic barefoot walking continues to grow with more styles and a wider variety of colors. The Daisy shoe has been introduced in three colors including a classic white, white multi and the light pink multi. Colorful sandals for boys and girls are now available with the multi-colored Mimi, available in pink, green and yellow, as well as the Sydney in both browns and blues.
· The Originals® collection will be priced at $32, and is available for children 0-24 months in age.

Grip ‘n’ Go™
· Grip ‘n’ Go™ footwear is made with all the benefits of Originals®, but with special G2 Technology for active toddlers that are transitioning to walking with a more confident stride. Following the overwhelming success of last season’s Grip ‘n’ Go™ launch, pediped® has expanded the line to feature more than 30 styles. Rich, colorful sandals, classic Mary Janes and several new machine washable athletic styles have been added.
· The Grip ‘n’ Go™ collection will retail for $39 – $45, and is available for children 9 months to 3 years in age.

· pediped Flex® is the ultimate shoe for confident walkers who have developed a solid, natural stride. The Flex line offers more than 60 styles in vibrant colors, including the Maggie sandal, Riley sneaker and Sydney sandal for boys.
· Flex® styles range in price from $34-$54 and are available in EU sizes 20-29 with select styles now offered in larger sizes up to EU 31.

The Spring/Summer 2011 collection is now available online at www.pediped.com and in select retail stores.
In addition to the debut of the exciting Spring/Summer 2011 collection, pediped® announces the launch of the pediped® Foundation to support children’s causes. Since the company’s inception, pediped® has been committed to bettering the lives of children and to date nearly $700,000 in cash and product donations has been donated to children’s charities. The establishment of the pediped® Foundation will help foster even more ways for pediped® to give back to those in need. >NGR Shoes- *MY* idea of a great Valentine- Sweet & Simple Valentine’s Event

>Yes, of course I love shoes.  How can I not?  I haven’t met many women who don’t.  I miss the shoes I could wear before having kids.  My feet grew longer (and wider!) with each pregnancy and to date, have not returned to their former size.  I fear my size 7.5-8 shoes are a permanent thing of my past.  RIP, old shoes.  R.I.P.  I’d love new shoes for Valentine’s Day.  I’d love workout shoes too…

Anyway, now that I’m taking the proverbial bull by the horns and trying to regain my shape- and my HEALTH, for that matter, a natural extension of this will be exercise, in one form or another.  (My body is screaming in protest even as I type this…).  I feel like I almost hate exercise enough that excuses to not do it fall into my lap.  Like- my kids are not good sleepers.  Its far easier to sleep an extra 20 minutes a day than to set an alarm and try to get up before them.  But honestly?  I *NEED* to make the time.  Some way, some how.

This is where NGR shoes come in.  Right now, I have 3 sick little kids.  Sick, with scarlet fever, and one has a bonus ear infection.  (Pharmaceutical industry, we’re keeping you afloat in this house.  Thank you’s are welcome). I have had even less sleep – and energy- than normal.  Add in the winter weather we’re being innundated with here in the northeast, and guess what?  This Mama Loves to find excuses to not exercise…and here are many all tucked into one nice package.

But wait.  I haven’t had time nor energy to hit the gym.  Nor the ability to take a walk outside (first of all, we have no sidewalks in town….secondly…its been heavily precipitating and my kids are SICK, remember?).  Yet, I have sore muscles.

Because of my new NGR shoes (which, ladies and gents, come in PINK!!).  I’ve been wearing them in the house- and although it is a bit weird to have them on the first 10 minutes, they are great. And, I’m sore.  Not a ton sore, but a little sore.  My workout?  Chasing 3 kids who have cabin fever and don’t feel well but are chomping at the bit to DO something and can’t…and doing the stairs to the second floor and down the other stairs into the basement, multiple times per day.

NGR shoes come with 2 insoles.  One has very minimal weight- good for strenuous exercise.  Those are tucked away into the insole box.  They ALSO come with weighted insoles- 1.5-2lbs per insole (depends on your shoe size).

So when you wear your shoes, you’re already adding weight.  Which means your body is working harder to even just walk around the house.  Which means you are getting at least a tiny bit of exercise when you otherwise (*ahem* me) wouldn’t be doing/getting.

Features of NGR Shoes:

Includes two midsoles.

1) Just a few ounces: Turns NGR Shoes into an everyday cross trainer.

2) Weighted midsole: 1.5 – 2 lbs per foot based on shoe size. Turns NGR Shoes into a gym on your feet!

Easy use … Get an Anytime. Anywhere. No Excuses. workout

Helps burn up to 50% more calories
Strengthen, tone, firm and shape the lower body and core

Increase muscle endurance and reduce fatigue over time

The price won’t even break the bank.  Women’s and Men’s are $135.99.  Which yes, I do realize isn’t super cheap, but we can’t afford a gym membership where they offer childcare, so $135.99 to get me some movement and resistance thru the winter months is VERY reasonable to me!!  Plus, the shoes are really nice quality.  It’s a way to keep our healthy resolutions on a continuum.

What are you waiting for?  OH!! One of my readers will win a $50 Gift Certificate to use at NGR!!

Mandatory Entry: Visit NGR Shoes and tell me which style you’d like to try most.  Leave your email if it isn’t visible in your profile!!
