Belugabloo Online Bookstore Interactive Books and Games for iTunes and Google Play (iPad Mini & Belugabloo Giveaway)

I found a new must-have online bookstore app for families with children up to 12 years. It’s called Belugabloo and we are loving it!  Belugabloo is actually an online bookstore that you download, and then add apps, games and e-books within it.  It’s available on Google Play and iTunes, free to download.  Some content for Belugabloo is free, while others have a minimal charge.  The books, games and apps within the bookstore are really great- beautiful graphics, quality material and content, and engaging for the kids.  It’s also really nice because instead of going into all different apps on my iPad, the kids are going all over Belugabloo and not moving my apps and stuff around- or worse, hiding or deleting them (I’m not the only person this happens to, right?)

belugabloo home page

My 7 year old asks for Belugabloo all the time.  She thinks its so cool to read books on a tablet, and to be able to interact with the books.  She had it at the dentist last week and it was so cute to hear her explain to the hygienist that she was ‘helping mom blog’ and explaining about how Belugabloo works.   She’s very inquisitive and is really hoping she can start getting some of the books in Spanish so she can teach herself (I loved learning languages as a kid too so I guess she gets that from me?)

belugabloo groovy tortoise and the hare

When you open one of the books in Belugabloo, you can choose to “Read by Myself,” “Read to Me.”  Many also have “Read and Play” for an option.  This is great because the kids can all use the app if they are readers or not. I can’t decide if I want to see the words highlighted when  the book is read to the kids or not- sometimes I think that’s a good thing and other times I think it’s distracting and takes away from the story.

belugabloo crossing of the red sea

There are some religious books you can find in this bookstore- something that my family enjoys- my kids are always asking more and more questions about God and the stories in the bible and this is just one more way they can explore that.

For the older kids, there’s some content from Discovery Channel and some other authors with cool science, history and culture books.  I have tried to peek at almost all of the apps and books available through the Belugabloo bookstore and most if not all have a free “sample” option to try before you buy- something we don’t always see in apps.  I like this feature, because we’ve all had that thing that looks great but doesn’t end up to be what we were wanting it to be…or isn’t quite what we were looking for.

Different levels of play means that your child will be engaged for a much longer period of time.

Apps in Belugabloo range from free to $2.99.  Definitely affordable and lend themselves to being enjoyed for a long time with the interactive features contained within each. My little one loves using the “read to me” feature but is also happy to snuggle up with me or daddy (or her big sister) and have us read to her.  I always want to be sure that no matter how interactive things are, that the kids are having interaction WITH us and not alone,  something I feel we parents in the digital age need to be aware of.

The bookstore is available as a free app on Apple iTunes and Google Play, and features e-books, games and apps, designed for babies and children up to age 12.  Sample features include:

·         Animated story books with built-in play activities

·         Customizable options such as “read to me,” “read by myself” and “games”

·         Books, games and apps that cover subjects like counting, colors, art, music and more

·         Content that is available in a variety of languages, including Spanish and Chinese

Peter Pan Diamond Edition on Blu-ray Combo Pack February 5 and FREE Printables!

peter panFamily movie night this week was a viewing of Peter Pan on Blu-ray.  My kids haven’t ever seen the movie, but given our recent trip to Disney World and their love for meeting Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Captain Hook and adoring the Peter Pan ride at the Magic Kingdom, I knew it would be a well-received movie for all five of us to enjoy. I haven’t seen this movie- well, I’m not sure I’d ever seen the movie in it’s entirety-I’ve seen the musical on Broadway as a kid several times and always loved it.

kids with peter pankids with tinkerbell
My kids were riveted. All three of them.  I guess they were enamored with seeing some of their new Disney friends being on the screen- although none of them understood why Tinkerbell didn’t speak in the movie, since she was very animated and very talkative in person.  I’d forgotten how parts of the story went, especially with the Indians, but the kids were fine with it.  They found the same things funny that I always have – and maybe even more!

The Diamond Edition is definitely worth purchasing- you even get a free storybook app.  We have a portable DVD player and when we get the combo packs, I always tuck the DVD into the case for the portable player and keep the blu-ray in the living room.  That way, we’re never stuck without a kid-friendly movie if we’re travelling long distance.  The digital restoration is really well done- technology is so amazing- this film is 60 years old now!

The “Peter Pan” Diamond Edition Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD, “Peter Pan,” as it soars to all-new heights – with a new digital restoration and high definition picture

Love LEGO bricks? You’ll LOVE LEGO’s YouTube Channel! ($1000 LEGO Giveaway) #LEGOChannel

One of my favorite childhood pastimes was building with LEGO blocks.  I’m so happy to say that all three of my children seem to have inherited my love of LEGO blocks, and each spends time regularly playing with them.  We’ve had Quatros, Duplos, and “regular” LEGOS, we’ve had sets and we’ve had individual pieces. We’ve got accessories, kitchen items, apparel, and whatever else we can find.

One thing we’ve not had was a way to view the LEGO shows that don’t appear on the TV “on demand” from our cable provider- or to view the LEGO videos that have aired elsewhere or are made for online viewing…until recently.  LEGO has it’s own YouTube channel and we’ve found a new way to watch our favorite toys come to life.

TheLEGO channel is fabulous.  Just about any LEGO-produced video you can find, from product information, TV ads, shows, and behind the scenes stuff- all in one place.  AND, you can create playlists to match interests or your kids’ ages and have them be able to access a list with content that YOU want them to  be able to watch- no surprise videos popping up.  We have all experienced or heard of someone innocently stumbling upon “adult” content or something not in our taste and having playlists means we eliminate that risk.

I will say, I do hope that LEGO expands on what they offer for videos and include some fun DUPLO videos- I know my kids would get a big kick out of seeing their LEGO farm friends on screen, and my little girl would be ecstatic if her princess friends came to life.  My oldest is very into the LEGO Friends line and keeps asking me if there are episodes for Friends like there are for Ninjago.  So LEGO, if you see this…we want more!  Please!

There is a lot of content on web; creating a playlist on the Official LEGO® Channel is a great way to ensure your kids are entertained and watching videos you can feel good about.

Cascade Complete Pacs help us get 2013 off to a fresh, clean start! #CascadeComplete

Lazy may be too harsh.  Overtired, and stuck to the couch mama?  In any event, we had a super full dishwasher two nights ago, and both my husband and I forgot to run it.  Not only did this mean the dishes didn’t get washed, but all three of my favorite coffee mugs were in there.  Tragic. I haven’t been really happy with the dishwasher detergent we’ve been using, and was very annoyed because I just *knew* that the dishes weren’t going to come clean.  Then the doorbell rang- it was a delivery including a sample of Cascade Complete Pacs!  Score!

cascade complete

See, with an older dishwasher…things haven’t been getting quite so sparkly clean.  That’s with rinsing ahead of time.  I get really, really annoyed when I have to pre-rinse things and then put them into the dishwasher (first world problems, I know. But if you have a machine that’s got a job, I want it to do the job it’s supposed to do!) The new Cascade Complete pacs combine all the cleaning power of powder and the power of gel and combine to make a super cleaner.  I think they need to make an icon for this product wearing a superhero cape. I love it.  Take that, icky dishes!

cascade complete pacs

So after my dishes sat dirty overnight in a very full dishwasher, I was all mad at myself because I just knew I’d be doing handwashing to finish the job.  Annoyed with myself for forgetting, I popped a Cascade pac into the dispenser, turned the dishwasher on, and crossed my fingers.

Turns out, I didn’t need to cross my fingers.  These tiny pacs have a powerful punch.  I may not always be one to use “regular” store bought cleaners, but especially during cold and flu season, especially with the illnesses my family has had in the past month alone, I do use them.  There was nothing left on any dish nor on any piece of flatware in my dishwasher.  Usually there’s a little surprise waiting for me somewhere amongst the clean dishes, waiting to taunt me and make me want to scream in frustration (I can’t be the only one who finds the “treasures” the dishwasher misses?)– but even after sitting overnight in their filth, the dishes were shiny clean.  No spots, even.  I’m a happy girl.  I’m a convert, too. A box of the Cascade Complete Pacs is already on my shopping list for this week!

Of course, I have a shiny new dishwasher in the garage waiting for my husband to have time to install it and then I will REALLY be off to a fresh clean start, with a brand new, efficient dishwasher AND Cascade Complete!  Until he gets the chance, I’m glad to have these pacs because they work so well.  It’ll be a dishwashing dream, having a new, efficient dishwasher and a well performing product to clean the dishes with!

About Cascade: In 1953, Cascade entered the automatic dishwashing market with claims of “spotless dishes” to the 4% of households with dishwashers. This fast-moving world of household innovations was just in its beginning stages, and Cascade stayed at the forefront for the next 50 years by developing a range of automatic dishwashing products perfect for a variety of families, needs, and lifestyles. Today, with decades of experience and dishwashers in more than 60% of households, Cascade continues to grow, striving for immaculate dishes every time with its brilliant automatic dishwashing powders, gels, pacs, and additives.

Little Passports Encourage Curiosity and Travel (Giveaway)

One of my 7 year old ‘s favorite gifts this Christmas was the subscription she received to Little Passports USA Edition. I knew she’d like it, but I honestly believe it has been her favorite gift. She’s been talking about it nonstop. All of the components of the introductory kit, called the Discovery Kit, plus the first monthly envelope that followed soon after. Little Passports is helping kids learn and understand about all different cultures in the world and right here in the USA. Helping them in so many ways, too. Kids love to get mail- but mail comes from someplace, so that right there is fun to check out- my daughter always wants to know where the postmark will be from on things that come to the house. The contents of the packages from Little Passports are never the same twice so that makes things super exciting too- mail that has surprises early on in each month of the subscription! Plus, they get to learn and discover new, fun exciting things and also experience some of the adventures that Sam and Sofia have. I can’t say enough good about this program. Little Passports has us hooked.

little passports florida

I also have a map of the world and a map of the US on my wainscotting in my dining room courtesy of Little Passports. I’m not allowed to take them down. MOM, I hear(with a side of exasperation), we can’t take them down. I need to have them up all the time so I can keep finding out more facts and information and cool stuff about where Sam and Sofia are visiting next! She also goes on to explain that they are “way more fun” to look at than boring family photos and add a splash of color to the room. How can I say no to that? So they stay. It’s gotten all five of us talking about places on both of the maps, which is never a bad thing. The kids want to know where my husband and I have travelled, and they share places they’d like to go. They want to know so much and I’m sitting here wondering why it is that we never thought to have a map hanging up before! What a great idea!

little passports starter

My daughter LOVES this kit, and the envelopes that are coming to bring her new places. The first “month” we got was Florida & Nebraska- perfect timing since we have our first big family trip this month- TO Florida. She’s been showing her little brother and sister all of the things she’s learning about thanks to Sam and Sofia quite proudly, both on the map and reading things aloud to them at meals. It’s pretty cool, how excited she is about learning where these places are!

With your USA Edition subscription, Sam and Sofia travel to and experience the wonders of all 50 states. Kick-off your USA adventure with the first month’s Discovery Kit which includes a letter from Sam and Sofia, a USA Field Guide, a USA scratch book, a map, and a camera. Sam and Sofia then travel to two new states every month and send an activity-packed travel journal with stickers, postcards, pop-out models and access to online activities.

When you first start your Little Passports adventure USA Edition, you will receive the Discovery Kit which comes in a custom Sam and Sofia USA (durable) Portfolio and includes:

  • An introductory letter from Sam and Sofia
  • USA Field Guide
  • USA Scratch Book (If your kids haven’t discovered scratch books, they are a ton of fun, and a big mess. Have them do it outside or on a table so you can (carefully) sweep the scratch ‘dust’ as I call it neatly into the trash can.)
  • USA Wall Map
  • Disposable Camera and Photo Scavenger Hunt

Every month thereafter, your child will visit 2 new states and receive:

  • A 32-page activity-packed journal covering 2 states
  • Stickers
  • Pop-out Models
  • Postcards
  • Access to more information and activities online (Boarding Pass)

The recommended age range for our USA Edition is 7 to 12 years old.

After signing up, you will receive your first package with our Discovery Kit in about 4 to 5 weeks. New packages will arrive around the beginning of every month thereafter.

There are 4 options to subscribe- 3, 6 and 12 month memberships, each including a Discovery Kit to begin, and also a monthly membership which will get your child all 26 monthly envelopes and the Discovery Kit. If you want this to be a gift for a child in your life, planning ahead by about 5-6 weeks will mean the Discovery Kit is in your hands (or theirs) on the occasion you want to gift it for and they can have that to open and begin exploring and learning.

This is an amazing gift. It’s going to be at least $11.95 a month, up to $14 a month, but it’s going to give your child all kinds of knowledge, crafts and ideas, and keep them occupied each month for the duration of your subscription. I’m guessing most of us will spend close to that on some kind of entertainment or activities for our kids anyway- this is a way to pull those activities together and put them into a fun package so kids have a thematic curriculum that they don’t even know teaches them things. It’s just a lot of fun. One thing I really like is that it isn’t just a one time thing that comes in the mail and gets tossed aside- my daughter goes back to it over and over again to look something up or to try another part of the journal activities. Math, science, social studies, language arts are all components cleverly disguised as fun facts and information- and a wonderful way to get your child excited to learn about other parts of the country (or world if you do the world edition- which I’ve already been told is next on the list).

One reader will win a 2 month subscription to Little Passports USA Edition!

My husband has a smart phone. The HTC 8x. It’s about time. #Troop8X #HTC8

htc 8x phone

My husband has a sweet new smart phone. It’s the brand new  Windows Phone HTC  8x.  Thankfully, it arrived just in time for our Disney trip earlier this month, which gave me a HUGE sense of relief- now, I knew if we got separated, I’d be able to get in touch with him (his work cell is for work and they are not allowed to use it for personal use).  Since this is a brand new phone, I knew I’d love the bells and whistles, and believe me, I’ve played with it, but I thought that having HIS point of view on it might be a refreshing change of pace.  So that’s going to be woven in this post and any future posts I do about this phone.  His one big thing he wants to share is something he says with any touch screen device- big fingers and touch screens are not instant friends.  I think I finally have him set so that he knows to turn things sideways and it’ll be less of an issue with the screen sideways, which makes the font/buttons/images larger.  He gets so frustrated with touch screens because of this but he’s worked past this issue with the HTC 8x already.

The phone, by the way, is super sleek.  VERY thin profile.  Very fashionable.  I love the “blurple” color and no, I do not think that is an official HTC color although it should be.  It’s totally a fun phone to grab out of your pocket.  Having it be so new, people were stopping my husband to comment on it frequently on our trip.  The phone itself is almost rubbery (again, non technical terms) which makes it really easy to hold and not drop, especially when you are multitasking or carrying items. It’s a great feature, especially since this phone is so new, it’s not really easy to find cases and accessories for it!

The HTC 8x is a Windows Phone, something we’ve reviewed a few times previously on this blog- a very, very user-friendly operating system. Jenni and I have both checked out Windows Phones and like us, my husband is loving the graphics and ease of finding the most commonly used features of the phone.

Having a smartphone means that I can almost have access to my husband 24/7.  Which is a double edged sword for ONE of us, although I won’t say who.  I can text him and more importantly, send him pictures he can see almost immediately if there’s something going on with the kids or the house and he’s not able to be here with us.  I can send a picture when some “thingy” on the washing machine looks funny, and he’s able to give me guidance (or laugh) without having to leave work to help. I have sent him photos of the kids’ activities when he wasn’t able to join us, and while it isn’t the same as being with them, at least he can share in it a little.

Being able to access the internet for weather, directions, sharing information, is such a convenience for so many of us with smartphones– I’d almost forgotten how much I rely on my phone until Mr. Bargains got his.  He’s still new to the “I’ll check it on my phone” thing.  But he’s catching on, and fast.  I’m pretty sure his favorite thing is being able to see when UCONN basketball will be playing their next game and what channel it will air on but maybe I’m wrong.

Speaking of game times, and personal interests, one of the COOLEST features of this phone is the many ways you can customize it.  Sure, there’s the standard wallpapers, and all, but you can really have some fun and give this phone YOUR personal touch in a lot of fun ways. Check this video to see how:

Next time I post, I’m going to share with you the AWESOME camera on this phone.  It BLEW the photos on my iPhone 4 away! I was very (pleasantly) surprised.

Marie Callender’s Mini Pies are the perfect sweet treat for Pie Day! #MarieCallenders

Happy Pie Day!
Yes, today is Pie Day.  Not to be confused with the mathematical holiday, Pi Day (March 14).  Apparently the American Pie Council designated today as Pie Day.  Party time!  Let’s celebrate! Given the nature of the holiday, I felt it my duty to partake in some enjoyment of pie.  I totally made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner and  for dessert? I chose a Key Lime Mini pie, since I’ve been missing my mom a lot and she loved key lime.
marie callenders key lime mini pie
Here’s where it gets tricky.  I’m trying to eat healthier and not have treats.  But it’s pie day.  Conflicting.  Thankfully Marie Callender’s has these adorable little mini pies now (in 3 varieties- Key Lime, Coconut Cream and Chocolate Satin) and they are sold at my grocery store.  So I was a “good” bad girl.  I only had a tiny bit of pie.
marie callenders mini key lime pie
Plus, I shared.  The kids tried it too.  So that’s really like I didn’t have ANY pie, right?  And maybe I should have that other one after the kids are in bed?   So that second mini pie from the box, well, I savored it.  Almost all of it.  Until my husband saw me delighting in the creamy, sweet but tart mini pie goodness.  Then I got the stink eye and shared.  Sigh.
I tried the new Key Lime Mini Pies … next I want to try the Chocolate Satin.  I probably won’t try the coconut.   It’s nothing against coconut, I’m just not a fan. Have you had any of the mini pies? Did you know you can leave a review and rating at MarieCallendersMeals.com for this or any other Marie Callender’s products you’ve tried!
Check out the Marie Callender’s blog. On Jan. 23, you’ll be able to share what kind of pie you plan to celebrate Pie Day with (sweet or savory) via a representative image. Here’s the blog link: http://blog.mariecallendersmeals.com/

Skyward Summit from Step 2 is AWESOME.

playtown

We affectionately call our backyard “playtown” because, well, we have a lot of cool stuff to play on.  I love having things that encourage kids to play outside! We’ve lost 2 main attractions with storms in the past few years- our 2 very old apple trees that had rope swings and a tire swing, but we also have my brother Tom’s self-designed playset structure including a playhouse with pergo flooring…which we melded with a wood swingset and now have a monstrosity that can easily fit 10 kids to play at once.  But we felt like something was kind of missing.  Or rather, I did. My kids like to climb, and climb, and climb, but they never seem to want to actually climb things that are made for them to climb on.  You know, like scary unstable things. That’s what they want to climb.  Or climb OVER the monkey bars, and then slip off.  (Only twice, and knock wood, no major injuries yet).

The first time I saw the Skyward Summit from Step 2 in a catalog I knew I wanted it.  The kids are getting bigger and we’ve done away with the littlest kid things, so we need some more cool big kid stuff. This box arrived a while ago, but thanks to some freak storms, family things going on, and more freak storms, our shipping box was  frozen into place in a not easy to access part of our yard.  This weekend, things aligned and we were able to set it up.

skyward summit

My 7 1/2 year old was very, very excited to be an official helper. At least she was for 4 screws. Then she went to build a snow fort.  I was on my own.skyward summit kids helping

I love Step 2 products- always high quality, top notch construction.  So I knew this would be a great piece to add to our playtown.  What kid wouldn’t want a rock/climbing structure in their yard?    This one has over 100 feet of climbing space including 2 cargo nets and rock walls.  There’s also a flag for the top that’s just cool and you can reach it by climbing the outside of the structure or by popping your head through the hole in the center of the “roof” of the summit.  (Yes there is a hole there and yes it is big enough that your child’s head won’t get stuck in it).

skyward summit platform

The Skyward Summit is made for kids ages 4-8.  My little one is just shy of 3 1/2 but she scrambled right up with no issues.  (Her dad got really nervous, but I knew she’d be fine. She’s part monkey!)  The mesh “platform” in the center of the structure is going to be used as a fort for many, many hours in the future, I can tell already.  The kids loved sitting up there taunting their dad until he threw snowballs at them….(Please note the platform is not meant to hold more than one child at a time, we really just wanted to give you an idea of the space of it.  See safety notes below from manufacturer)

skyward summit climbing

Your little adventurer can explore and discover from the peak of the summit. Its authentic design reaching 80″ (2.03 m) tall makes this climber look like a real rock climbing wall giving your child over 100 square feet (9.29 square meters) of outer climbing area!

Made in USA of US and imported parts. Nets, grips and flag made in China.

  • Four unique climbing surfaces create varying challenges
  • Features 2 climbing cargo nets, 1 floor net and 9 grips
  • Narrow top offers a challenging climb for children
  • A hole at the top of the peak allows children to peak out
  • Mounting hardware included and adult assembly is required
  • Limit 4 children – Maximum weight limit 320 lbs. (145.1 Kg)
  • Limit 1 child on platform – maximum weight 80 lbs. (36.3 Kg)
  • Intended for family and domestic use only
  • Adult Supervision Recommended

step 2 skyward summit

**You may notice in my photos that this is NOT secured to the ground.  There are stakes included to secure the summit into the ground, but we’re not 100% certain where this will be “living” in the yard so we didn’t secure it.  They will be added this coming weekend to ensure the kids are safe.  As with most play areas, make sure there’s at least 6 feet clearance (and preferably soft material) surrounding your playset structures- mulch, rubber mulch, gravel- let’s keep those little ones safe!

I really want to be all “this was not hard to put together” and “it didn’t take too long” but I have to fess up.  I’m pretty good with toy assembly and this  set had me frustrated and using colorful language frequently.  It took several hours, mostly because the instructions weren’t 100% clear.  I’d still definitely recommend this, but I think there needs to be a lot of patience, probably some beers (if you imbibe) and try to go over the instructions a few times before you start.  The way the nuts, bolts and screws were packaged was not in a logical way and there really, really needs to be some narrative in the directions.  The cargo nets are very very hard (more colorful language) to get into place without someone really strong helping- thankfully my husband was able to come in and do it but I thought I had the wrong sized netting.  Once you get this thing assembled, you’ll be happy, as will the kids. You’ll deserve a gold star (trust me, I told my kids and my husband all day today that I do) for finishing this.

If you have little climbers, I definitely think you should check out the Skyward Summit.  Your kids will enjoy it for hours on end for many years!

On-In Beauty Skincare (Giveaway- 3 winners)

Winter is here and with it, my perpetually dry skin- especially on my face. It makes me crazy. I’m always looking for something to use that will help to keep my skin looking healthy and feeling good- so when I had the chance to try On-In Beauty system I jumped at the chance. On-In Beauty is a 2 part system consisting of a nourishing topical cream and a naturally sourced dietary supplement that work together to boost skin elasticity, hydration and UV protection.
I’ve been using the On-In Beauty system for about a month now- I love the cream. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles (yet) but I do have horribly dry patches of skin every winter and within 5 days of starting this skincare system I noticed a difference in my patches of dry skin. The cream is nice- not a strong scent (I love scented products but not on my face!) and not super thick. Application is quick and easy and you aren’t left feeling super greasy or like you need to reapply the product to get good coverage.
I’ve never done caplets or any dietary supplement for skincare before so I wasn’t sure what I’d think about the “in” part of this system but it does make sense to hydrate the skin from the inside and from the outside! I’ve been really happy with the results and am hoping to see this product on store shelves sooner than later. Bonus? The caplets are pink. Which is neither here nor there but we all know I love pink.

On-In Beauty products contain Lutein, which is a natural antioxidant found in Marigolds which improves hydration, elasticity and offers UV protection for skin.

Three readers will each win a 1 month supply of On-In Beauty System including the cream and caplets.

Pong Research iPad Case Boosts Your Signal and more! (Giveaway)

Pong Research Wi-Fi iPad 3 caseSo I had this super cute and fun iPad case  that I really loved, because it was pretty to look at.  But over time, I liked it less, and less, and still less.  The cover wasn’t great quality, and while fun, not the best way to protect the (expensive) iPad device that was inside of it.  So I set out to find a new case and cover that would do  a good job protecting my device.  I do, after all, have three little children (including one three year old who is obsessed with the Starfall apps for kids and also with Angry Birds, and who sneaks out of her room at naptime and runs back to her bed with my iPad in tow) and I need to make this iPad last a really, really long time. A name that kept popping up in different forums and searches was Pong Research, so that’s where I looked for a new case- the New iPad Case.

Pong Research makes some really great quality cases- which offer your iPad protection in the form of a leather-like case that functions very much like the Apple Smart Cover, only with a lot more features.  The origami style shape and function of this case give you several ways to prop it up- for optimal viewing  and physical comfort.  We tested many, many of these when my kids all had pneumonia over Christmas last week.  Some positions are better than others, but all offer benefits.  The extra something that Pong cases offer is a boost for your Wi-Fi signal built into the case.  This “extra something” is in the craftsmanship- Pong’s new iPad case is proven to reduce your exposure to potentially harmful radiation emitted by your iPad’s Wi-Fi antenna by up to 91% below international safety limits, while improving your reception and range. No other iPad case can do this, period.

The biggest “extra something” in the case, and in everything Pong Research makes, is that the devices protect US.  The users.  Pong cases are designed to redirect the radiation from your wi-fi device using- well, whatever science and numbers they use to do this.  It’s kind of awesome.  You’ll pay a bit more but since you get double protection, I think it’s the best value around.  Technology is here to stay but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take steps to protect ourselves.  This feature means so much to me that I’m trying to decide what color I just went ahead and ordered a pretty pink Pong case for my iPhone.

I just have this one tiny little complaint about the Pong case for iPad 3.  And to be fair, it’s not a real “complaint” but more a pout.  It only comes in black.  Which is fine, but I like fun, and color.  But for me, the features and function are more important. So I’ll do without fun colors.  BUT, let me tell you, if Pong decides to go with fun colors, I’ll be one of the first to order. Or the first.  This is a case worth every penny.

Compared to other leading cases, the Pong case can:
Improve Wi-Fi reception by up to 9.8X
Increase your Wi-Fi range by up to 2.6X further
Increase download speeds by up to 9.1X
Increase upload speeds by up to 8.7X

Compared to the Apple Smart Cover or your new iPad alone, the Pong case can:
Improve Wi-Fi receptions by up to 3.3X
Increase your Wi-Fi range by up to 1.6X
Increase download speeds by up to 3.1X faster

Sleek, functional, origami design
The new iPad Pong case is the perfect pairing for your new iPad. With four patents granted or pending, Pong never compromises on function:
Soft leather-like protective cover and case
Patented Origami cover folds into 5 configurations
Automatic sleep-wake functionality on closing and opening of cover
Specifically designed for the new iPad’s size and features

Pong’s not just for Apple products- they make a nice variety of cases for Android, Blackberry and Samsung devices as well.

I received an iPad case to facilitate my review.  Opinions are my own.  (I liked it so much I bought a phone case already, which should tell you something!)
