I got a great package in the mail recently from the good folks at Cradle and Thread. Cradle and Thread is a baby clothing company and it just so happens that I gave birth to my first child six weeks ago. I received the Infant Starter Set which consisted of 2 short sleeve bodysuits, 2 long sleeve bodysuits, 2 pants, cardigan, hat, 2 burp cloths, and a blanket. They come in cute soft colors and the items are all made in the USA.
My boy is still a few weeks away from being able to fit in Cradle and Thread’s smallest size (3-6 months), but I did try out one of the bodysuits on him. The material is very durable, not flimsy like some of the other one piece suits I have, and it is really soft. It even held up to the immediate spit up and pee (my boy really wanted to test it out!). Since the material is a little thicker than other clothes, it didn’t wick the moisture all over the entire outfit. I’ve been using the burp cloths and blanket which are also just as durable and soft. Today I put the cute light green cardigan, which is a little lighter material than the bodysuits and it was perfect for a cool spring day.
This company is really amazing! Not only are the Cradle and Thread clothes and blankets super cute and soft, but the company has a conscience! They donate clothing to needy families. For every item you buy from Cradle and Thread, they donate clothes through their Giving Sewn InTM program. What a great thing to do! According to their website, “We measure our success based on the positive impact we have on children in need and their families. Our Giving Sewn InTM program is the way we facilitate that impact.” In addition, since the clothes are so durable, they will surely outlast my use and I’ll be happy to pass along my Cradle and Thread clothes to someone else too.
Cradle and Thread has many different purchasing options, as sets like I received, or you can purchase the items separately. It will make a great gift for (and from) a mom or dad that also likes to donate or give back to those in need, since your purchase is actually like purchasing twice.
I received samples of this product to facilitate my review. Opinions are my own.
