Got an iPhone? iTouch? Want to have a little i-pet? Cube Dog offers a free app that let’s you customize your very own little cyber pet, with over 1.3 million combinations for nose, ears, mouth, body…and more. That’s a lot of options. That’s a lot of time to keep my kids busy when we’re stuck in a waiting room without good toys, books or snacks to keep them busy. That’s a whole lot of cyber-cute. PLUS, once you customize your little pal, you can bring it to the “playroom” and interact with it- typical dog tricks, even ninja-style ones. This is what my 3.5 year old has spent a lot of time doing- and to be fully honest, I have too. Its fun, its silly, and very cute!
The graphics and features of apps for my iTouch never cease to amaze me and Cube Dog is no exception. 3D graphics- and if you use the camera view you can rotate and zoom- with your fingers!! The images themselves are excellent- very high quality 3D. I’m always, always happy to check out new apps, especially free ones, that will keep the kids happy and that I don’t need to worry may have questionable content. Cube Dog definitely fits the bill! Plus, you never know when that meeting will go really long or you’ll be stuck on the tarmac at the airport- why not have something fun to do for yourself, too?
We made “Flegg”, a blue Cube Dog, and at some point, we may even upload photos of Flegg and share him- when my son decides he’s ready to share his Cube Dog with the world. For now he’s just hanging in the playroom enjoying interaction with Buddy when he decides that’s the app he wants to open to play. I think part of the attraction for my son to this app is that the “parts’ look at bit like his beloved building blocks and he spends hours playing with those, so creating a pet that has the same feel of those blocks and interacting with it seems a natural extension for his play.
A bonus feature of this cute new pet? 100% allergy free. No risk of anyone sneezing when the Cube Dog comes out to play!!
There is a fun contest on Cube Dog’s Facebook page running June 13-17th! Be sure to check it out soon.
