Don’t you just love leaving the hair salon with that perfectly smooth, styled look? If you are anything like me, you are never able to recreate the same look at home. I have tried all the hair products and blow drying techniques, but when it comes time to get the kids ready in the morning I usually just put my hair up in a pony tail. Heck, sometimes I don’t even get to wash my hair everyday.
The last time I was getting my hair highlighted my stylist suggested that I try a flat iron. My hair is quite thin and I had always assumed that flat irons were for people with thick curly hair. She tried it out on me, and voila! Perfectly smooth hair. She also showed me how to easily use the iron to achieve hot roller type curls. I had no idea flat irons could even do that! Needless to say, I have been dying to try out a flat iron on my own.
I was so excited to have the opportunity to review the KQC X-HEAT Ceramic Styling Iron. This particular brand has ceramic plates which cause less friction and damage to the hair. The Tourmaline ceramic plates also create negative ions which helps reduce frizz and maintain moisture in the hair. In addition, the iron heats up to 410 degrees in less than 30 seconds. This is too hot for my hair type, so I set mine to 230 degrees and it worked great.
I am a novice at using flat irons, but found this one very easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly it moved through my hair and how efficiently it straightened. My hair looked smooth and healthy when I was finished, not frizzy at all. It also worked quickly. I envisioned standing for hours in front of the mirror, but it took me less than 10 minutes. This would be a great option for those days when you don’t have time to wash your hair, but want your hair to look styled.
I was really impressed with the salon quality of the iron and the results. The iron’s design was sleek and easy to hold. This product retails for $159.95 at FlatIron Experts online, but retails for almost $300 in salons. This seems like a reasonable investment for an easy, everyday hair solution. I love this flat iron and am looking forward to using it to try some new hairstyles.
