ScentSicles Scented Ornaments

I grew up with fresh cut Christmas trees purchased locally to support the local volunteer fire department. My mom had 2 kinds of trees that were her preference, and we had cathedral ceilings in our house. We had some monstrous trees over the years. Part of Christmas, to me, is the smell of a fresh cut tree, and there’s not much that has been able to evoke that memory for me- when my mom died, we “inherited” the artificial tree she’d begrudgingly switched to for ease a few years prior- with little kids we decided it would be a good idea…safer…simpler…

I love the tree, it’s gorgeous, a really nice tree, and I love that it was my moms. But I also kind of hate it. There’s no scent. Nothing. I think that’s what I hate. The nothingness of aroma. I am not a pine scented fan but oh, I love the smell of Christmas, of the tree fragrance wafting through the house, mixing just the smallest bit with aroma of baking cookies in the oven…those scents, they bring me right back to our house on East Hill Road…

ScentSicles seems to understand that for people like me, who don’t have a “real” tree for whatever reason, may still want to enjoy the scents of the holiday season. I wasn’t sure what I’d think when I got my ScentSicles package, but as I opened the box (not the packaging- just the BOX!) I could smell the pine and smiled- I think for the first time this year, with our fake tree, I won’t miss the fragrance quite so much. These fragrance infused sticks smell so very much like a fresh cut pine tree!!

One of my favorite scents of the holidays is anything with cinnamon- I just love it.   I put a few of these upstairs so that I can enjoy the fragrance throughout the house.  I might even have hidden them so no one knows where they are but me (shhhh don’t tell my hubby!)…

The ScentSicles are meant to last up to 30 days, which is perfect, since I just took them out of their packaging over the weekend and can now enjoy them until the holiday- and then not worry about storing them.  They are made with sustainable products and are biodegradable so I feel good about using them, and they are easy to find and very affordable.  A really nice addition to a holiday gift basket, or a hostess gift, or just for YOU!!
