I need a Backyard Oasis #SummerwithSears (Giveaway)

We have a wonderful backyard.  It’s large, we have a pool, a large patio, and a ton of room to have a large garden, blueberry bushes, and a great play area for the kids.

But our backyard is far from an oasis (so far).  The patio needs to be redone (eventually) and honestly, it’s frequently got the few chairs we have pushed aside for the kids to ride bikes and scooters on.

In a dream world, I’d be sitting in a hot tub under a nice, fabric gazebo…with a nice table and chairs nearby…and there’d be a large hammock for me (or anyone) to enjoy.

In reality, I’m knee deep in scooters, sidewalk chalk and pushing swings.  I guess I’d not have it any other way…at least for right now.  But I think there’s some room at the end of the day for a little backyard oasis for the adults, don’t you?
What do you think we should do to make our yard have a bit more of an “oasis” feel and not just a playground feel?  (Pleasesayhottubpleasesayhottub)

Now that I have shared what turns my backyard into my perfect summer oasis, I want to know what you’ve done to transform your backyard into your oasis. One of my lucky readers will win a $25 Sears gift card!

  • Ever since we extended our patio, added a gazebo for shade and a miniature pond with a small fountain 5 years ago, we call our backyard the ‘Donovan Oasis.’ Sure there are tons of toys, water guns, buckets and ride-ons in the vacinity but every once in awhile (early in the morning) I get to take my cup of coffee, sit in a comfy chair and listen to the wonderful sounds God gave to us to hear. The birds, the wind, bees buzzing, and sometimes a hummingbird if I’m lucky.

  • We have raised garden beds and are going to expand as soon as we have the money. We like to grow veggies and fruits during the summer. We also want to put in a gazebo, but haven’t had the budget for it.
