Each week Just Trying To Save Money brings us a new way to save big! Check out this weeks, Way To Save!

Our way of living may not be for everyone, but we decided when we had children that one of us would always be home with our kiddos until they were all in school. Yes that means cutting out one whole source of income, but that means no daycare costs and we get the joy of raising our children! With that said, we need to stay on a strict, tight budget to do so! So our family is always looking for new ways to save money or cut non-essentials out of our budget! With just one income and at least 3 more years before I can return to work for our family to have 2 incomes again, we need to save every penny we can! So I am always adjusting and re-adjusting our budget and over looking our expenses all the time! Here is one way I found to help the bottom line!

Coffee is a must have for most people! But it can get to be a really expensive habit! Instead of stopping by your local coffee shop every morning spending $3-$4 each day on your cappuccino or specialty coffee, invest in a coffee maker to either have at home or the office to cut hundreds each year! If you do some math and see just how much you could save each year just by making coffee at home, you could quickly see how that vacation you have been dreaming about may not be so hard to swing financially, just by a few cuts!

Most coffee is about $3-$4 each multiply that by 365 days a year and you are spending $1095-$1460 each year just on coffee! Invest in a good coffee maker ranging from $30-$60 and the cost of your coffee and creamer each week, you could be saving more than $700-$900 each year! What could you do with that money?

Grab this Cuisinart DCC-1100BK 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black for just $54 at Amazon!

Need your Espresso or Cappuccino in the morning? Snag this DeLonghi EC5 Steam-Driven 4-Cup Espresso and Cappuccino Maker, Black for just $38! Here are just a few examples, there are many other options! With a few trips to your local retailers, you could probably find a great coffee maker for very little!

  • I do not drink coffee very often but I would love to have a one cup coffee maker, That is one of the biggest reasons that I do not drink coffee regularly- I too am a stay at home parent and the most I would drink would be a cup..when I can afford it I will buy one of these simple coffee makers

  • I definitely make my own coffee at home…it saves so much money! I was fortunate enough to win a Tassimo Brewbot in a giveaway & I am hoping they come out with a reusable cartridge so I can use my own coffee like the one they came out with for the Keurigs!!! The cartridges are a bit on the expensive side!!!! I also love my Tassimo because they have teas, coffees & hot chocolate that you can make all from the same machine!!!!!

  • My husband loves coffee and making it at home saves at least 10 dollars a day! Crazy how the little things build up!

  • Although I make my coffee at home daily, I will occasionally treat myself to a specialty coffee out. That way I still save money, but get to treat myself too!
