Are you on a weight loss journey? How are you doing?

With Mother’s Day and my birthday just 2 days apart, I had a 1.4 lb gain last week (which honestly should have been more, I wasn’t really good about staying on program and it was sheer luck that kept that number from being higher)- we went out to eat twice and there was a Carvel ice cream cake…a weakness (ok really, what sweets aren’t a weakness????).  So I deserved to gain, and knew that this week would be better.

I also have a renewed motivation to stick with my program.  If you didn’t read earlier this week, I was invited to fly out to Los Angeles and attend the red carpet Hollywood premiere of Cars 2 in about 3 weeks- which means I have about 3 weeks to drop as much weight as possible.  Talk about renewed motivation- holy moly!!  I didn’t realize how “meh” I’d become about this until I realized just how excited I was to see how much I can lose before I board that plane to LA on June 15th.  So, we’ll see how I do.

I was down this week- 3.1 lbs from last week, for a total loss of 27.7 lbs.  I can tell you that regardless of my physical appearance or how my clothing fits, I FEEL 27.7 lbs lighter.  I can feel it when I’m carrying a kid up the stairs, or a bag of groceries, or walking and carrying on a conversation. I can feel it when I’m playing soccer or catch with the kids in the yard and not feeling winded or tired almost instantly.  I can feel it- and I LOVE it.  I’ve said it before and will continue to say it- I am so beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a blogger for the Nutrisystem family and nation and for the opportunity to regain my health and reclaim my LIFE.

A friend gave me a bike seat to put on my new (to me) bike that other friends gave to me- so this weekend I’ll be asking Mr. Bargains to please please please put that seat onto the bike so that I can take Baby B and the kids on bike rides on the bike trails near our house.  I’ve been riding that bike frequently in the yard and driveway, and I think my kids have finally stopped thinking that its hilarious that their mom actually rides a bike- but even that, I can ride around and around for a good amount of time without huffing and puffing and feeling like its time to take a very long nap…
