Can you believe that I have never purchased a pair of galoshes or a rain coat for my children? That is, until my little one became mobile and I quickly learned that he is a “puddle jumper”. Our first outdoor puddle jumping excursion ended in wet shoes, wet pants, wet diaper, wet coat, wet baby. I quickly decided that it was time to look into some rain gear now that spring has arrived.
When I saw the “adorable” designs by Kidorable, I was sold. I was particularly drawn to the Space Hero set, as my older son is infatuated with outer space. I had the opportunity to try out the rain boots and the rain coat. When the items arrived, they were each packaged in sturdy boxes. In fact, I kept mine to store small toys in. I ordered my children’s current shoe size, and found that it was right on. They will be able to wear these boots through the spring and hopefully into the fall rainy season. They are super easy to pull on and off (my 2 year old can even do his own!), and even have enough extra room for thick socks. My older son LOVES his new Space Hero rain coat. The PVC material is thick and durable, the enclosures are easy to secure and the hood is super cute, it looks like a space helmet. The sizing for this garment is generous as well. It is large enough to last a couple of seasons. I love that Kidorable sells their rain coats with the matching coat hanger. This was a huge selling point with my 5 year old. Geesh. This set is just so cute, now I think I need to go buy the matching umbrella! I love how this raingear is themed. I find that it really encourages imaginative play outdoors, which I think is so crucial to young developing minds. My boys have already been on several space missions outdoors with their new gear. I love seeing them play outdoors this way, it makes me feel like I am doing my job as a parent.
Needless to say, these products were so popular in our house, you will frequently see my children wearing galoshes on a bright sunny day, just because. And hey, why should I mind? I don’t need to put them on or take them off. It makes my life just that much easier!
Kidorable has a great selection of boys and girls rain gear. Sizing is available from 12-18 months up to 6/6X (this makes matching your children super easy, if you are into that kind of thing). I would highly recommend looking at all the cute styles at Kidorable for all of your springtime raingear. They not only carry rain coats and rain boots, but also umbrellas, backpacks, knitwear and towels.
One very lucky reader will win their choice of umbrella.
