Heather from Family Friendly Frugality shared this post with me so that my readers can participate in the Scavenger Hunt (I’m brand new to this too so I wasn’t 100% sure how to explain!)
From time to time, I like to join up with a bunch of bloggers and send my Facebook followers on an Amazon Gift Code Hunt!
What does this mean?
This means that we release Amazon gift codes and whoever plugs it into their Amazon account the fastest…gets the money!
It’s generally very fast paced, crazy and kind of hysterical!
First let me walk you through what you need to do to join in on the fun.
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Now you are going to want to go to Your Account
- Now go to Apply A Gift Card to Your Account
- Get Ready! When the code is released, you need to be the FIRST person to enter it into this field and press enter. Otherwise, someone else will get it!
To answer a few inevitable questions that ALWAYS seem to pop up:
::Why are there so many blogs? It takes too long/gets too crazy!
These giveaways are generally done with very small Amazon Gift Cards. It’s a way for us to give back to our readers without having to hit our pocketbook really hard! We also think it’s fun and it builds up our communities. Bloggers love to support and lift each other up! This is our way of including our readers into that fun.
::Why do I want to bother for a $1 Amazon Gift Card?
You don’t have to! We make these amounts small because we want more people to be able to win. If you aren’t in it for the game, you might not want to participate. However, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that a $.55 code might be followed by a $10 code!
::People are cheating. This person keeps winning. Make that person stop playing.
Oh dear, I wish we could. There are definitely a few that like to spoil the fun. Trust me, we know about them and we ALL know their names. We aren’t fans of them, but the nature of these giveaways are such that we can’t police who wins. So we try to make it tougher. Splitting up codes and hiding them. That’s the best we can do without stopping the giveaways all together. Are there people using less then fair means to participate? Absolutely. Just know that we know who they are, and we don’t like them either. We’re rooting for the good guys!
::This is fake! Noone is really winning/they are giving the codes to their friends, etc.
If you don’t win something does that mean it’s not real? Trust me, I wouldn’t play with bloggers that were giving out fake codes. None of the codes are fake. If you didn’t win…you weren’t fast enough. Try again next time.
::This is fun! I am a blogger too, how can I join up!
Email me and I’ll see what I can do. I’m not the lead on this and obviously we don’t want too many blogs involved. However impromptu collaborations happen all the time and you might be contacted if there’s an opening!
::Is this legal on Facebook?
According to my interpretation, yes. We aren’t requiring you to do anything to participate and the “entry” is off Facebook.
So good luck…and let’s have fun! Let’s be good sports and let’s all enjoy the game!
The next game will be at 9pm EST 5/26[ad#glam between posts]0
