>Kid Companions Chewelry Review & Giveaway

Kid Companions are yet another fabulous product that was made by a mom for her child.  They are safe for kids to use – BPA, phalate free, lead and latex free.  Kids who have sensory issues often benefit from ‘fidget’ toys and similar items and the Kid Companion is designed to offer that benefit to kids as they get older in a stylish and functional way.

Kid Companions Chewelry was designed by Pierrette d’Entremont, a mom of 3 who had a daughter with special needs who really appreciated  heart shaped teething pendant necklace her mom had made for a younger sister.  That’s where Chewelry began- and the great idea of allowing children a way to fidget in both a discreet and fashionable way.

Chewelry is designed to work for kids as they get older- they are designed to last 6-12 weeks with some chewing, and 4-6 weeks with heavier chewers.  The break-away clasps and lanyards holding the chewelry are not designed for chewing, although Kid Companions does make an undyed organic cotton lanyard for kids who do chew on the lanyard itself.

While my children at the present time do not have fidgeting needs, nor chewing needs, we have friends with children who do, and I was quite happy to be able to share a wonderful product like this with them.  A friend of mine has a 6 year old daughter and she was over the moon about her heart shaped chewelery I was able to share!!  Mom has reported back to me since that this is one of the best products she’s had in her house and its made such a big difference for her daughter.  She loves that her daughter can have her chewelry accessible anytime even at school and its not a big deal nor obvious that she’s fidgeting or chewing on it.  That makes me so happy to hear!

Chewelry is great for preschoolers up to teenagers. You can get a clip on fidget or the lanyard style.  Or, both.  It’s pretty affordable, too, as I think about what I myself have spent on teething necklaces for my kids- and for me to wear- and its safe, so no worries about bad chemicals getting into your child’s body.
