** Please note this is NOT a for-the-kids post this is more a post for after the kids go to bed- or rather, about a DVD to watch after the kids go to bed!!**

There have been several moments throughout the show that Nikita has been judged solely on her looks, which is a huge mistake! Have you ever been in a situation where someone has judged you based on what you looked like, and how did you prove them wrong?

I can tell you that I’ve been misjudged almost daily for my entire life simply because I am a female with the name Brett.  While this may not seem like a big deal to you, I’ve also had that carry over into people not believing that I am who I say I am because when you look at me, I’m quite obviously not a male.  I have had instances where I was stuck waiting for ridiculous amount sof time in medical offices becuase the staff looked into the waiting room and didn’t see a male- but Brett was the only name on the list, so surely “he” must have stepped out…instead of asking, they made a (wrong) assumption.

On a funnier note, when Mr. Bargains and I were engaged, we set up a meeting with a DJ with friends of ours, also engaged- she, too had a male name, and it wasn’t until the end of our wedding receiption that the DJ admitted he fully expected to be meeting with

Obviously this isn’t the same as someone being judged because of the color of their hair, or their skin…but still.  It just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

Check out Nikita: Should Have Told Michael, Nikita: Reassure Me and Nikita: Towel Girl if you’ve not checked out the show itself yet, or if you just can’t wait to get the DVD in your hands to see some more Nikita!

Nikita: Season One is available for preorder now and will be released on August 30, 2011.

I have been hired by Warner Bros. WBWord division to promote Nikita Season One. Opinions are my own.
