Have you soda lovers heard of Soda Stream yet? You haven’t!!!!!!! I just LOVE the idea of this device. It makes carbonated beverages easily at home and cuts down on waste by eliminating liter bottles and cans. I love trying all of their different soda mixes to find my favorite one (pink grapefruit is the winner so far ). They have regular and diet flavors. Regular flavors have no high fructose corn syrup and diet versions have no aspartame. The device leaves a small footprint on my counter top and doesn’t

require any batteries or outlets. Simply add cold water to the special liter bottle (I always leave one of the two liter bottles chilling in my refrigerator), twist into device, push the button to add carbonation, remove and add syrup. Gently shake the bottle and voila! Homemade soda. The entire process takes less than 2 minutes. I feel good knowing that I am not drinking high fructose corn syrup, and I can customize my drink without buying an entire case of soda from the store. It’s also economical and you know that I love a good bargain. Each soda mix container makes 12 liters (33 cans) and costs between $4.99 and $9.99. If you order 9 mixes online, your 10th is free! Not only does Soda Stream offer soda mixes, but they also offer enerygy drinks, sparkling water, sparkling naturals (which contain no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors) and sparkling teas. The carbonators can be refilled through online services and run about 2 for $29.99. Each carbonator makes 60 liters of soda, which is about 15 gallons! That’s a lot of soda! My final thoughts: I do enjoy the convenience of having soda at my fingertips. It’s also nice to store a variety of syrups. The only downside? You have to store those syrups somewhere. Also, I haven’t had to refill my carbonator yet, but this seems like it could be a litte inconvenient. All in all, if your family likes to drink carbonated beverages and experiment with different flavor combination, this system might be for you! We keep ours out all the time and have used it quite a bit. I love that I can buy the Soda Stream system and syrups at my local Bed Bath and Beyond store.
