>One of the first things I thought of when I decided to do my Safe Fun in the Sun event was sunscreen.   It’s so important to use it, and not only that but to reapply it throughout the day.  I contacted TRUKid and asked if I could do a review - and here we are.  We have been using  used up 2 tubes of the Sunny Days SPF30 and 2 sticks of the Hero Stick already.

Here are my thoughts:  The lotion works great.  Not too thick, not too greasy.  The smell is GREAT.  Citrus-y.  I love it.  The kids don’t seem to notice, of course.  But, I appreciate a nice scent.  I like that its thick enough you can see where it goes on until rubbed in well.  None of the 3 kids has gotten a burn wearing it and we’ve put it to the test at the park, the playground, our yard, the sandbox and the swimming pool.  Oh, and at Tball.  That’s saying a lot!!

The Hero Stick I like a lot, too.  I think some people will NOT like that it is hard to rub in- that doesn’t bother me, because the kids like to use the sticks to apply the sunscreen themselves, so I can see what they have and haven’t covered.  It works great to get little ears covered with sunscreen.  It also has the yummalicious citrus scent.

From the website: TruKid products are BPA and Phthalate free! We make safe products that families can feel good about; our certified organic and natural ingredients are always SLS, paraben, 1-4 Dioxane and Gluten-free!

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has awarded TruKid’s entire line the safety rating of 0-3! THE SAFEST RATING of all kid’s skin care lines!

You can see the ratings for TruKid’s line here.  (If you haven’t seen that link before, take some time to check it out.  Its amazing what is in the products we put on our bodies day after day without thinking about what is actually in them.  Myself included).

I think this feature of the TRUKid line is pretty cool- there’s a method to the designs on the packaging and symbols to guide children what body parts things should go on.  Check it out here.   My oldest can read, but for my 2.5 year old- this is great for him, because he can see the face icon and know its for his face.

You can BUY TRUKid products online.  Use code brett10 for 10% off- just for This Mama readers!!!
