We have a new “thing” in our house.  We’ve become all about the butter. The buttah.  Not “just” butter, but fun butter. Butter with a twist.  It started with a maple butter we had at a restaurant and now it’s become like a game for us to find fun new butters….It helps keep “boring” dinners and stuff that we make all the time interesting…and definitely keeps conversation going.

The fun thing about compound butters is that you can just use it at home or you can package it all pretty for a housewarming gift with a nice loaf of bread.  It’ll dress up any meal- for a special occasion or just for fun.  A fun strawberry or cranberry butter would make a pretty looking Valentine’s Day breakfast, and add a little twist to everyday flavors.  So here are 10 compound butter recipes for you to enjoy.  Have your own?  Let me know!   • I have tried the Lemon Dill butter with Monk Fish, very good! I also do a version of Orange zest butter for my homemade scones.
