I’ve been lucky enough to have a Striiv to play with- and keep track of my physical activity lately. What is a Striiv? A personal fitness technology device. It’s kind of like a pedometer but includes walking based games to motivate (which I am never finding for myself), and donations to charity with every step taken. Yes, your daily walks not only do YOU some good, but also do good for others.
The Striiv is tiny. Smaller than a credit card (thicker, though) and can slip right onto your keychain. There’s a lot of cool incorporated into the tiny size, and if you have a techy person on your holiday list, or an exercise buff, this is most definitely an item you want to consider putting under the tree for them!! You – or they- or you can all- get fit AND give back!! That’s a win for everyone!
The Striiv includes a number of walking-based video games for motivation, with challenges to earn and for every step taken – which affects your level of play in the games – and a donation to a charity (i.e. providing water to third world, vaccines to children) will be made for each step.
* With the water example, when you walk 500 steps, your water glass becomes half full…
My Striiv came when we were in the midst of our power outage so I had to wait a week to try it out- it’s been in my pocket or my purse (I love that it doesn’t have to be clipped to your waistband to work) everywhere I go- I love seeing how many steps I have taken and it really is getting me wanting to “beat” my steps from the previous day!! This is a really fun gadget and I am enjoying it. If only it came in pink.
TWO of my readers will win a Striiv just in time for the holidays!!
I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review. Opinions are my own.
