I love, love love Beauty and the Beast. I got the DVD for my oldest for her birthday this summer, but really? It was for me. I can’t wait to see it in 3d in theaters in a few short weeks!! Meanwhile, we’ll be for sure printing out these free activity sheets from the movie, courtesy of Disney. Download these free Beauty and the Beast 3d Activity Pages activity sheets!!
This looks like a fun addition to the already fabulous Disney Junior lineup! A princess for the toddler crowd, that’s actually a younger age. She teaches and models positive, age appropriate behaviors like sharing, kindness, being a good sister. I can’t wait to meet her!! What do you think- will it be a hit?

An instant family favorite was Disney’s Prep and Landing a few years ago. I loved it instantly. Its cute, its funny, its a new twist on holiday shows, and- it’s TINSEL! This is one of the first Christmas specials where so many techy gadgets (even if they are shaped as gingerbread men) are used- such a fun twist on the ordinary.
The DVD for Prep and Landing released 11/22/11 and is available for purchase at stores everywhere. The story itself is great but the extras on this DVD are super cute- Tiny’s Big Adventure is absolutely adorable…and it’s hard not to love anything that Betty White is in. [click to continue…]

Belle, Beast, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts and Chip are back!! Not just for Christmas but for Belle’s Magical World. I can’t wait to watch Enchanted Christmas- we’re saving it for Thanksgiving weekend (even I, lover of Christmas everything, wait until after the turkey is roasted to start…) and since all of us love Beauty and the Beast, I know we’ll love Enchanted Christmas. I’ve always loved Beauty and the Beast for the songs and music in the film- Tale as Old as Time…oh, how I love that song!! Takes me right back to the first time I saw this- and I’m excited to see where else Disney takes my beloved friends…
These would both make wonderful holiday gifts (and even come with gift labels stuck right onto them for easy giving!! [click to continue…]
I think i’ve seen Cars 2 eight times already. Obviously the first 2 viewings were probably the most exciting, given that I was at a screening in LA and then got to walk the Red Carpet and attend the World Premiere!!
In Cars 2, we revisit many of our friends from Cars- only time has passed, things have changed, and the feel of this film is far more ‘big kid’ than little kid. Don’t get me wrong, kids all love it (my 2 year old and I have both got a mad love for Mater) but this is more a James Bond meets Pixar kind of film. Its fun, its funny, it tells a great story, and my beloved Mater gets to have a starring role in this film!
The extras are really fun for me to watch, especially the interviews with the stars, since we got to meet several of them during the Cars 2 press junket and at the party after the world premiere. It kind of puts a different feel on the film, watching it, having met the people who are the character’s voices. It seems like everywhere we go lately we see Cars 2- toys, games, apparel- our TV died right when the power came back on and when we were shopping for TV’s to replace it, guess what was on the entire wall of screens? You guessed it!! [click to continue…]

A new soundtrack and DVD inspired by Disney Junior’s #1 series Jake and the Never Land Pirates, are planned to set sail this September with Walt Disney Records’ album release of eighteen hook-filled songs from the series on September 20 and The Walt Disney Studios “Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away!” DVD release featuring seven episodes from the series on September 27.
Jake and the Never Land Pirates is cable’s #1 series among Boys 2-5 and is on track to be Disney Channel’s #1 preschool series ever. It is the most co-viewed series among all Disney Junior and Nickelodeon series, with 47% of Moms watching with their preschooler. A music-filled interactive treasure hunt, the series introduces a crew of kid pirates – leader Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby – and follows their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit two infamous characters, the one and only Captain Hook and Smee, from Disney’s classic “Peter Pan.” Every episode features the animated Sharky and Bones characters as they pop up throughout to perform original pirate ditties, and each episode concludes with a live action music video featuring The Never Land Pirate Band.
What’s funny to me is that this isn’t just a HOT show for boys 2-5. I know both my girls ADORE this show, I enjoy it, my friend has an 8 year old son (almost 9) who enjoys it- and the list goes on. I like it. I LOVE the music. I was so excited to hear about the soundtrack coming- and when it arrived in our mailbox it immediately went into the CD player in the van. We have been singing Yo Ho Matey’s AWAYYYYYYYYYYYY all over town (apologies to anyone in earshot). I’ve never been so excited to hear if a live tour will come out for a kid show, because I will buy tickets for sure, the day they go on sale. The music alone for this series is simply awesome and fun!
The album features a variety of songs that kids and parents can enjoy together. Songs include the kooky, comical “Hot Lava,” “Aw Coconuts,” “Pirate Password,” and the arrrghhh-rated “Talk Like a Pirate.” Some songs refer to popular characters in the show, such as “What’s Cookin’ Smee,” “Captain Hook (Is A Cranky Crook),” “Tick Tock Croc” and “Bucky’s Shanty.” Others capture the island spirit of Never Land, such as “Castaway on Pirate Island,” “Shipwreck Shuffle” and “Never Sky,” as well as the “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” theme song. All songs can be heard in episodes of the show.
Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away!,a DVDpacked full with seven episodes from the series and two incredible bonus features including Yo Ho, You Want To Be A Pirate?, where Jake teaches viewers how to talk like a pirate, and Pirate PartyWith Pirate-oke, a collection of music videos performed by The Never Land Pirate Band that allow viewers to enjoy with or without the sing-along/karaoke-like feature.
My kids love this show so much I kind of waited for them to inform me that we’d be walking the planks on Halloween and be dressed as a pirate family. I think I secretly was hoping so, because it might be really fun for all of us to dress as a pirate family. Alas, other costumes won their hearts, but they still adore Jake and the Neverland Pirates and watch it almost daily. I’m so excited we can watch it anytime now! (Wait for toys, I hear they will be coming next May to stores!!)
Retailing for the suggested price of $19.99 in the U.S. and $24.99 in Canada, the Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away! DVD also comes packaged with a bonus 7-track CD sampler and a pirate eye patch. One of my readers will win the Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Yo Ho, Mateys Away! DVD/CD/eye patch set!
I received a sample of this product to facilitate my review. Opinions are my own.
Dumbo was, growing, up, a classic icon of Disney for me. We never hit Disney without a ride on Dumbo, and I can remember rewinding the VHS tape of the film countless times over the years to watch again, again, and again once more. Dumbo was the fourth animated film for Disney (look how far they’ve come!) and won an Academy Award for Best Music along with a nomination for Best Song as well.
I was so excited when I heard that this movie was to come from the vaults, having been restored to what is assumed to be the original color approved by Walt Disney himself. I am trying to have all Disney films on BluRay and/or DVD for our family to enjoy over the years- and being able to add films that were previously “in the vault” makes me so happy! Seeing the famous flying elephant once again brings back so many memories for me from childhood! [click to continue…]
